On The Rock

Matthew 7:25 states, “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.”

This verse speaks to the importance of building our lives on a strong foundation. When we build our lives on God’s materials, we take on His characteristics and are able to weather the storms of life. Just as a house needs a solid foundation to withstand the forces of nature, we need a strong foundation to withstand the trials of life. When we build our lives on the foundation of God’s love, grace, and truth, we are able to stand firm in the face of adversity.

We become like a house built on rock, able to withstand the rain, floods, and winds of life. But building our lives on God’s materials is not just about withstanding the storms of life. It is also about taking on His characteristics. When we build our lives on God’s love, we become more loving. When we build our lives on God’s grace, we become more gracious. When we build our lives on God’s truth, we become more truthful.

As we build our lives on God’s materials, we begin to reflect His character. We become more patient, kind, and compassionate. We become more forgiving and merciful. We become more like Jesus.

So let us build our lives on God’s materials. Let us build our lives on the foundation of His love, grace, and truth. Let us take on His characteristics and reflect His character to the world around us. And let us stand firm in the face of the storms of life, knowing that we are built on a foundation that will not fall. Amen
